Brief Description of Responsibilities:
As an intern, I will be working in the meetings department of Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. My main responsibility is to assist in the preparation for the Churchwide Assembly. I will help with registration, answering phones, writing and sending invitations, as well as other duties as assigned. I will also provide backup and support for the on-site meetings held at the Lutheran Center. Qualifications: Must have excellent computer skills, be detailed orientated, and have good writing and communication skills. Should be a good problem solver and be able to switch from one project to another when necessary. Must understand hospitality and the importance of making guests feel welcome. Should work well with others as part of a team and be a good listener.

Airing round-the-clock coverage of various athletic events, campus profiles, and on-site interviews, the Big Ten Network is the place to go if you are a Big Ten sports fan.

Brief Description of Duties: As an intern, I will be directly responsible for a number of marketing and communications-related tasks and objectives. I (along with a team of five other interns) will be completely redesigning the company's on-campus internship (creating orientation manuals, PowerPoint presentations, Gmail accounts/documents, and a start-to-finish specific outline of the various responsibilities of the on-campus interns), planning and working August's Big Ten Media Days, managing the company's Twitter account and various Facebook fan pages, and participating in a number of different promotional tasks around Chicago. We also help manage the network's website. My team and I will have to communicate directly and effectively in order to ensure that our numerous tasks get accomplished. In the middle of every work week, my team and I also meet with our Supervisor in order to give her an update on our progress.

Brief Description of Company or Organization: Heartland Truly Moving Pictures, a non-profit organization, was established in 1991 to recognize and honor filmmakers whose work explores the human journey by artistically expressing hope and respect for the positive values of life.
Each October, Heartland screens independent films from around the world and presents $200,000 in cash prizes and Crystal Heart Awards to the Festival’s top entries. This includes a $100,000 Grand Prize for Best Dramatic Feature underwritten by the Max Simon Charitable Foundation, a $25,000 Award for Best Documentary Feature and a $10,000 Award for Best Short Film. The remaining $65,000 is shared among the Crystal Heart and Jimmy Stewart Memorial Crystal Heart Award winners.

Brief Description of Duties: I will be doing a variety of assorted work to ensure that the festival stays on track. Some of these jobs will include the following: making phone calls to venues, producers, etc., communicating with filmmakers, discussing films with the staff,assisting the director of operations, Working with Communications Coordinator to manage and facilitate various marketing and PR projects as they relate to Heartland Truly Moving Pictures and the Film Festival, assist in answering phones, and I might potentially be writing reviews of some of the films as well as other tasks that will occur during the two months that I am there.
