“Basic Mediation Training” is a great tool to add to the lifelong toolbox of community members interested in healing community harm, resolving neighbor-to-neighbor conflicts, alternative dispute resolution, criminal justice issues, or helping youth.
Participants who complete CJAM’s “Basic Mediation Training” are eligible to work as CJAM volunteer mediators; however, any community member interested in learning basic mediation skills is also welcome to participate.

“Basic Mediation Training” is a great tool to add to the lifelong toolbox of community members interested in healing community harm, resolving neighbor-to-neighbor conflicts, alternative dispute resolution, criminal justice issues, or helping youth.
Participants who complete CJAM’s “Basic Mediation Training” are eligible to work as CJAM volunteer mediators; however, any community member interested in learning basic mediation skills is also welcome to participate.

Haiti Film Festival to commemorate earthquake anniversary, raise money for relief efforts
Indiana University’s La Casa and community-based Bloomington for Haiti announce an upcoming film festival to focus on the ongoing social and economic needs of people in Haiti. The Haiti Film Festival will commemorate the anniversary of the January 12, 2010 earthquake that devastated Port-au-Prince and other communities in Haiti and left 1.5 million people homeless.
The Haiti Film Festival runs from 1:30-7:30pm on Sunday, January 23 at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater in downtown Bloomington. Information booths staffed by local organizations working in Haiti will be available from 2:30-7:00pm.
Tickets are $5 for students and seniors and $7.50 general admission. All admissions revenue will be donated to organizations working in Haiti to alleviate the humanitarian issues depicted in the films.

This course considers the challenges that Vietnam faces to protect its environment in an era of globalization and material prosperity. The course meets in and around Hanoi, Vietnam.
We seek high-achieving undergraduates from all units at IU who are prepared for an unforgettable experience in a part of the world that comparatively few Americans visit — yet where America has an indelible history.

I'm a visiting scholar from Hungary in the Linguistics Department of IU thanks to a fellowship, and I'm looking for subjects who would agree to take part in the study that I'm conducting for my Ph.D. dissertation. It is only one session and it should take place between 11-23 January. To Support the Study of the Holocaust
Two $1,000 Scholarships

Open to all IUB undergraduate and graduate students
During the academic year 2011-2012 the Sara and Albert Reuben scholarships may support funding to attend Holocaust-related conferences, to do research in archives and libraries, to subsidize a Holocaust-related internship, to engage in research and to support honors theses, master’s theses, or a dissertation, and other academic initiatives related to the Holocaust. The monies can only be awarded in the fall and/or spring when the recipient is a full-time student.
REQUIREMENTS: The scholarships are open to all Indiana University Bloomington undergraduate and graduate students from any department or college on campus. Undergraduate students must have a minimum GPA of 3.4. Students must be enrolled at Indiana University Bloomington during the Spring 2011 semester (the semester of application) and continue as enrolled students during the semester or year when the scholarship funding is awarded.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Please submit:
(1) a one-page proposal setting forth how funding will further study of the Holocaust;
(2) a completed application form ( http://www.indiana.edu/~jsp/docs/ReubenScholarshipApplication.pdf ;
(3) two recommendation forms (http://www.indiana.edu/~jsp/docs/ReubenScholarshipRecommendation.pdf) from IU faculty.
