Brief Description of Company or Organization: Kenny’s is a privately owned mens and boys clothing store in Woodbury, NY. Owner, Michael Rosen has been in the business for over 20 years. It is a full service mens and boys store that caters to customer services. It is a small store and most of its customers are regulars. Products mostly include suits but they also carry business casual. Because of competition of larger chain stores that populate the area, Kenny’s wins over their customers with traditional qualities. Michael Rosen is always working directly with customers and is always in demand. He also has two in-store tailors working directly upstairs who do alterations.
Responsibilities of Internship: As an assistant buyer, intern is responsible for actually going out to various warehouses and picking out clothing items that they feel would sell well in the store. Must accurately make predictions on which products have the highest selling potential. Intern will spend time looking for possible new wholesale sellers. Also responsible for analyzing sales reports and staying current with industry trends.

PAST INTERNSHIP: BAKED! OF BLOOMINGTON

Brief Description of Company or Organization: Baked! Is cookie delivery company that specializes in custom cookie baking. They offer 20,000+ different types of cookies, and deliver them by the dozen with two pints of milk (dubbed the “hot box”). In addition, they also offer baseball shirts and hooded sweatshirts, and are looking to expand to national shipping, as well as offering their dough to local restaurants and institutions.
Brief Description of Responsibilities: Acting as a marketing representative to local businesses to provide cross promotion. I am also expected to pursue new opportunities and threats for a brand new business attempting to make money in a highly fickle but lucrative market. Graphic design, basic accouting work, cookie creation and formula tweaking, restocking.
