Brief Description of Company/Organization: The Lake County State Attorney's office, located northwest of chicago is home to 70+ attorneys working for the state of Illinois and assist in public court cases. They hold several different divisions, each dealing with a different area of law.

Brief Description of Responsibilities: As an intern, I will be assigned to two different divisions within the office. Responsibilities include but are not limited to filing cases,closing files, entering data into the case management system, drafting subpoenas and other case documents, faxing requests for reports, completing arrest cards, and any other necessary projects for the support staff. All interns will also participate in observing court, meeting Judges, attending informational/educational presentations given by our investigators, touring the Coroner’s Office (viewing an autopsy if interested), Jail, Juvenile Justice Complex, and the Children’s Advocacy Center.
