RETAIL MANAGEMENT INTERNSHIP Walgreens, the nation's premier retail drugstore, has opportunities nationwide. With 7,000 stores planned by the year 2010, we're creating opportunities for talented, ambitious individuals to be ready to contribute to future success. So, if you're a motivated, enthusiastic, people-oriented person with a knack for organization and who thrives in the fast-paced world of retail management, we want to talk to you. Why Walgreens? Walgreens is America's best-known, largest-volume, most-trusted pharmacy retailer. We lead the U.S. chain drugstore industry in sales, store growth, and profits. We're also one of the nation's largest retailers overall — fourteenth largest to be exact — and one of its most progressive and successful companies. Founded in 1901, Walgreens serves more than 4 million customers daily and each store averages approximately $7.9 million in annual sales. In 2005, sales reached $42.8 billion marking our 31st consecutive year of record sales and earnings. We’re listed among Fortune’s "Most Admired Companies in America" for the 12th straight year and are ranked No. 1 among food and drugstore retailers. Ten weeks that could change your future! At Walgreens, you have the best of both worlds: the training, support and resources of one of America's largest retail organizations behind you, plus the encouragement to be a true entrepreneur. Because we want you to succeed in your retail career, we've created a comprehensive, step-by-step retail management training program that will equip you to become a Walgreens store manager, and from there — depending on your career goals — to move into higher levels of retail management at Walgreens. • The internship program is designed for college students to complete during the summer between their junior and senior years in school, exposes students to management skills and a full range of retail operations at Walgreens. • Interns will work with experienced store managers to learn about store operations, management responsibilities, merchandising, advertising, inventory, bookkeeping, and human resources. • Training includes research projects with on-the-job training. Interns are expected to complete written projects and research topics. • By the end of your ten-week internship, you'll know just what it means to manage a Walgreens store. • It’s also an opportunity for us to seek exceptional students, prior to their senior year of college, to train for future management consideration. Get paid to learn! • The internship is conducted between the months of May through August. • Interns are paid hourly • Rates vary from $12.00 up to $14.00 per hour • Interns are scheduled for 40-hour work week Apply today! What is Target Stores Week?

Take advantage of this unique opportunity to learn from top Target Store executives and soon to be IU Alumni, Kristy Blum. Kristy had the opportunity to intern with Target Stores last summer and has accepted a full-time position with Target Stores. She will be starting her new role in June 08 as Executive Team Lead in the Chicago area.

During this event you will have the opportunity to learn about Target Stores and the different roles each executive plays within the organization. You will also get the rare opportunity to hone in on valuable interviewing skills with the Behavioral Based Interviewing Seminar. A lot of companies have started screening applicants by engaging them in Behavioral Interviews both in person and online. So, once the seminar has been presented, you will have a great chance to put the skills learned to the test with a Mock Interview. This event will culminate into a once in a lifetime opportunity to job shadow at the local Target store with the executives that make the Target organization what it is today.

Space is limited in each daily event and sign ups are separate. You may sign up for all events, or just a couple.
