Pizza Teach-In: Election 2008

WHAT: PIZZA TEACH-IN ON THE 2008 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
WHEN: THURSDAY OCT. 30, NOON - 1 pm
WHERE: IMU OAK ROOM

Students this fall are immensely interested in analyzing the discursive strategies of the presidential election. This election provides a great opportunity to demonstrate
the relevance of cultural critique, and to help us think about how to interpret the barrage of messages we're receiving.

In response to this interest, AMST and CMCL are co-sponsoring a lunch-hour "Pizza Teach-In" on the rhetorical strategies of the election. A panel of IU professors will discuss the images and arguments at play in the current campaign, leaving much of the hour open for student discussion. This is an opportunity for students of any political leaning to critique and question any aspect of the election with both peers and professors.
