Brief Description of Company or Organization: INPIRG is an organization that allows students an outlet for effective citizenship and humanitarian efforts. Through INPIRG’s Clean Energy, Higher Education, and Hunger and Homelessness Campaigns, students have the opportunity to make a difference on their campus, with the local community, and on a larger scale INPIRG helps with national and global humanitarian efforts such as the Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

Description of Duties: Throughout the semester INPIRG hosts different events such as our food drive scavenger hunt on Halloween and our Hunger Banquet in mid November. My responsibilities as special events coordinator include (1) getting together with other INPIRG interns and leaders to organize and plan special events (2) delegating responsibilities to volunteers and other leaders for each event (3) making sure the event is advertised appropriately (4) finding the materials and props necessary for each event.
