Summer 2009 Chinese Classes: C101-C202

Announcement: Indiana University Summer Flagship Chinese Language Institute

Deadline: As of May 11, 2009, positions are still available in both levels. Applications will be accepted until they are filled.

The Indiana University summer Flagship Chinese Language Institute (FCLI) to be held in Bloomington, Indiana, will offer 8 hours of undergraduate credit to 30 learners of Chinese with or without prior Chinese language experience. This intensive, eight-week residential student program will allow participants to experience a full spectrum of active learning experiences from interpretive to interpersonal and presentational communication, from culture to comparison, and from community exploration to individual projects of connection with other areas of interest. Students will stay in a campus residence center while working in a variety of campus settings including classrooms, computer clusters, and language labs. The program is open to beginning and intermediate learners committed to participatory, experiential, and immersion-style learning. Undergraduate and graduate students from IU and other institutions are all encouraged to apply.
