Mighty Times Film Screening: Leadership and Change
The Legacy of Rosa Parks & The Children’s March, followed by discussion

These two documentaries made by the Southern Poverty Law Center capture the excitement and details of some important moments in the civil rights movement and the history of the United States. The issues faced by the communities involved are illustrated in interviews, film clips, music, and dramatizations in a way not seen before. The complexities of leadership and how various people contributed are portrayed in an innovative manner. Refreshments served at 4:30 in the Wright Education Building atrium outside of Rm. 1120.

Public Leadership: Challenges & Strategies, a panel discussion and reception
Sunday, October 18, 5:00 – 7 PM, EDUC 1120

Some civic and political leaders will present their individual paths in public life and will respond to questions from the audience. Those who have confirmed their participation are: State Rep. Matt Pierce, Monroe Circuit Court Judge Valeri Haughton , Bloomington Common Council member Brad Wisler, Jennifer Thuma, the education coordinator in the IN Attorney General’s Office, and Charlotte Zietlow, who has led political campaigns, has been involved in local non-profit organizations for many years, and currently is a leading force in the work of Middle Way House. Refreshments served at 4:30 in the Wright Education Building atrium outside of Rm. 1120.
