The people of Indiana University have a unique opportunity to improve the lives of children in Tanzania and Peru. Childreach International USA is a community-development charity dedicated to advancing healthcare, education, and child protection rights for children in the developing world. Unlike other fundraising organizations, Childreach International USA raises money by challenging its participants to conquer physical endeavors like climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, or helping renovate a school in rural Tanzania. We are proud to announce our expansion to Indiana University.
Childreach International USA is recruiting enthusiastic, adventurous individuals to be a part of our team. There are a variety of ways to get involved, and we strongly believe that Indiana is an excellent place to sign up participants. Before Childreach International participants embark on their journey abroad, they will raise money at home through a variety of fundraising activities. Approximately 50% of the money raised will go directly to Childreach International to support our projects overseas. Currently, we support Vocational Training Centers and School Improvement Programs in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania, and all participants will have the chance to visit one of our projects while they are in Tanzania.
“We have been visiting a number of colleges, and the response we’ve been getting from students has been incredible. It’s exciting to see that so many young people are looking for ways to travel, experience new cultures, and help children in the developing world,” says Amanda Leibovitz, Fundraising Director for Childreach International USA.
The registration fee is $250 and trip expenses are covered by fundraising efforts. We welcome everyone to attend one of our information sessions on Tuesday, November 2 in Ballantine Hall 005 at 8:00 PM. Each meeting will last approximately 30 minutes.
