Brief Description of Company or Organization:The Newport Aquarium is a state-of-the-art, $40 million facility located on the banks of the Ohio River directly across from Cincinnati. The Aquarium features 11,000 aquatic creature, 16 themed galleries, 60 exhibits and one million gallons of water. Operations, marketing, administration, husbandry, and engineering departments work closely together to ensure the education of guests and quality care of the animals.
Description of Duties: Assist in media and community relations, provide support to the PR staff as they prepare for a new summer shark exhibit, maintain the donation program and help compile a media report on a weekly and monthly basis, write press releases, news magazine stories, and radio spots, make pitch and follow-up media calls, provide support to the education and sales staffs.
