Externship Opportunities for Spring Break 2011

The Career Development Center and Arts & Sciences Career Services is excited to announce the 2011 Hoosier Externship Program. This program allows undergraduate students to shadow an employer in order to get a firsthand account of what a given profession is really like and gain insight on future career opportunities.

There are several externships focusing on communications, political/cultural topics, and non-profit operations. Externships will occur over Indiana University’s Spring Break, the week of March 14-18, 2011. The goal of the externship is for students to see what a “day/week in the life” of the sponsor is like and may include observing the host’s typical duties, attending meetings, and assisting with small projects to name a few.

Students can learn more about the opportunities available and apply on our website: https://www.indiana.edu/~career/services/externships

Applications are due on Sunday, February 6 by midnight and include a resume and short statement. Once chosen, newly-matched externs will be required to attend one mandatory orientation session.
