LATIN AMERICA/CARIBBEAN STUDIES CAREER NIGHT

Join IU Alumni and career professionals who specialized in Latin American and Caribbean studies and now work in careers that draw on their knowledge of Latin America and Caribbean languages and culture! Panelists will share their experiences abroad; provide tips on how to maximize your time here at IU, and offer strategies for Americans seeking international work. There will be time set aside to network with the panelists and other students with similar goals and interests. This night should be especially useful for students in international studies, area studies, languages, journalism, and other majors focused on global careers.

The Partnership for Public Service is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that works to revitalize our federal government by inspiring a new generation to serve and transform the way government works. Amy Bush, the Federal Service Student Ambassador for Indiana University, will hold office hours at the Career Development Center (625 N. Jordan Ave.) throughout the spring semester to assist students in finding internships and full-time jobs with the federal government.

Please join IU Alumni and career professionals in diverse careers within digital media, production and design for an evening of networking. Panelists will discuss their career paths, organizational opportunities, and provide advice for students entering the world-of-work. Each event will also include an introduction to networking, light refreshments, and the opportunity to engage with the panelists. The Networking Night Series is a collaboration between the IU Career Development Center and the IU Student Alumni Association.

INFORMATIONAL INTERVIEWS WITH THE IRS (INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE)
Wednesday, February 16, 8 a.m-5 p.m.

The Small Business, Self-Employed Division of IRS is offering part-time jobs as part of a new IRS training program in several locations around the country. Earn $13 or more per hour while you learn and gain valuable hands-on work experience in a world class Tax environment! Upon graduation (and with successful work performance) you may be promoted into a full-time career position as an IRS Revenue Officer. The IRS has positions available for college students in Columbus, IN. Interested students will need to select one of the time slots in the interview schedule. Upon completion of the informational interview, candidates will receive information about the online application.

If accepted into the Student Career Experience Program, you will:
* Work full-time during Summer 2011 and during school holidays
* Work at least 8 hours per week during the 2011-2012 school year (work schedule is flexible)

IU SUMMER CAMP JOBS FAIR
Thursday, February 17, 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
Alumni Hall, Indiana Memorial Union

Plan on attending the 2011 IU Summer Camp Jobs Fair. Over 65 different camp representatives from across the United States will be in attendance to recruit IU students for summer work and volunteer work. Working at a summer camp is great opportunity for college students to enhance their transferable skills in communication, problem solving, leadership, and event planning.

MAKING ART WORK: 2011 SYMPOSIUM ON CAREERS IN THE ARTS

Interested in making your artistic ability a professional reality?

This one-day symposium will focus on career-related issues of importance to the emerging artist/creative professional. Through lectures and networking, participants will learn about resources and strategies for pursuing a career in the creative economy.

This event is free and open to the IU community as well as the public. Breakfast and lunch included.

As part of ArtsWeek 2011, this year's symposium is sponsored and presented by the Fine Arts Student Association, Career Development Center and Arts & Sciences Career Services, and the Indiana University Student Association.
