Brief Description of Company or Organization: Madison Realty Capital ("MRC") is a private commercial real estate lender whose primary goal is to meet the borrower's need for short-term bridge financing with efficiency and flexibility. Madison Realty Capital provides commercial real estate financing for borrowers in unique and time-sensitive situations anywhere in the United States. Our customized loans will fit almost any borrower's needs that traditional banks do not offer. Since 2006 we have funded over $400m in loans, consisting of over 125 transactions ranging in size from $500,000 to $20,000,000.
Brief Description of Duties: As an intern, I worked for one of the top loan officers at Madison Realty Capital. The first week or so, I listened in on phone conversations where deals were being put together for loans to get an idea of hwta it sounds like to sell a borrower or broker. But I also had to learn about the company's lending guidelines and parameters where the borrower and deal has to meet certain parameters. I looked up properties to see where and how they were located in certain regions all over the country. (ie. growing neighborhoods/cities, average income in area ,value of land in area. etc) I also made warm calls to recent clients and new contacts that were given to me explaining to borrower's and brokers what our company does and what we can offer that traditional banks don't. When possible loans were bought to my attention by my contacts, me and my boss would get on the phone together and work out deals.
