Brief Description of Company/Organization: ABC, the American Broadcasting Company, is an American television network based in New York City and Los Angeles. ABC provides viewers with a wide range of entertainment with its' different demographic cable channels. I will be working for ABC Channel 7, the regional channel, which streams news, entertainment, weather, traffic and sports programming to the residents of New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey. Besides streaming both local, national, and international news, ABC Channel 7 is responsible for the production and management of major national day time talk shows like "Live! From Regis to Kelly" and the "View."The Channel 7 team works around the clock to provide viewers with up to date entertainment, utilizing all forms of new media.
Brief Description of Responsibilities: I will be working in ABC Channel 7's Marketing Department. I will be assisting with website development and working with the directors on different forms of new media advertisements. The Marketing Department strives to support the network through branding, and I will be assisting with the creation, development, and production of several advertisement and marketing campaigns. The interns will also assist with network events, putting organizational and leadership skills to the test. The internship includes assisting with marketing campaigns and network events and keeping the Channel 7 website updated. At the end of the internship, we are asked to present a marketing campaign to the network officials. In this presentation, we will brainstorm the best marketing plan to better promote the network and gain viewership.
