Brief Description of Company/Organization: The Office of Community and School Partnerships provides outreach to prospective IU students from grades 4 to 12. It is through our precollege programs that we are able to encourage youth to attain a postsecondary education. The Office of the Associate Vice President for Academic Support and Retention, formerly known as the Office of the Associate Vice President Pre-Collegiate Initiatives and Academic Support, was established in 1998 to further enhance student success and to create a climate that promotes cultural, ethnic, and gender diversity. In addition to advocating for students, our staff coordinates a broad range of programs and services for students. Within the Office of the Associate Vice President for Academic Support and Retention, the associate vice president and the directors lead a team of professionals responsible for a wide variety of academic support services primarily for undergraduate student s. We work to assure that student needs are met and all students are successful.



Brief Description of Responsiblities:
• Be knowledgeable of all policies and rules and assist in their enforcement.
• Monitors and ensures appropriate student behavior and adherence to the dress code.
• Recognizes and responds to opportunities for problem solving in the group of campers.
• Facilitates the supervision of campers while in the dining hall and while participating in daytime camp activities.
• Assigns tasks and scheduled breaks for Day Counselors and maintains work record of Day Counselors.
• Assesses the appropriateness of campers’ behavior and apply appropriate behavior management techniques.
• Reports behavior and other problems immediately to the Camp Director.
• Accompanies campers to all daytime camp events.
• Works closely, cooperatively and amicably with all staff members.
• Encourages cooperation, teamwork, and participation from Day Camp Counselors.
• Notifies the Camp Director if he/she must be absent or late for duty for any reason.
• Observes campers daily for illness and/or injuries. Report all difficulties related to health immediately to a Camp Director.
• Reports to work and from scheduled breaks on time.
• Stays in the dorm with campers and Night Counselors.
• Seeks advice from the Camp Director needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
