Story Play is a fun, exhilarating, exploration of memory, story, metaphor, and play led by master teacher and highly skilled facilitator, Nell Weatherwax (nellweatherwax.com). Gentle, fun, warm-ups and simple exercises are like a sweet recess for your creative inner child. No one is put on the spot. You don't have to be funny, quick or clever to explore the fun of improvisation based on simple memory moments from life. Give yourself a day of rest, play, grounding and creative rejuvenation with a group of playful, like-minded souls. Beginners welcome - no story telling experience necessary. All you need is a desire to play and your sense of humor.

Workshops begin with a gentle, fun physical/vocal/spirit warm-up which leads to simple verbal explorations of memories, dreams, wishes and snapshots. If you feel a desire to express but fear you "have no stories to tell", come find out what a great warm-up and a loving group can do for you as a creative person.

"My favorite part of Nell’s workshops is the invariable sense of safety and warmth she seems to help us, the workshop attendees, attain each time. It’s a fabulous blend of spiritual and physical waking up…" Meryl K., Indiana University Adjunct Professor

"It was exhilarating to be sharing such a personal story while balancing and playing with the energy and story of one other. I also really loved making loud silly noises in a circle of the people. I found the workshop to be a powerful way to tap into my own history and story while being fueled by others." Angela W., Nia Instructo

"I have taken improv classes from Second City, and writing classes at various universities, but I have never learned as much about improvising stories as I have in Nell's workshops. She is that rare genius who can both perform and teach." Barry C. Creative Director, Namedrop, LLC.
