Deadspin Is Looking For Summer Interns

The good ship Deadspin (http://deadspin.com/) is looking for some reliable deckhands as we sail toward harbor this summer. Do you think you could be our intern?

Here are some questions to guide you. Do you know sports? Are you familiar with Deadspin's style and content? Do you write well? Do you read a lot? Are you free at least two days per week from June to August? (We can be flexible about precise dates.) Are you based in the New York City area? (This part is important, so we've bolded it.)

If you answered yes to all of those, you just might make a fine Deadspin summer intern. Here's what you'd do: plenty of reporting, perhaps some writing, social media, stuff like that. (Interest in combing through public records is preferred but not necessary.) Meanwhile, we'd teach you plenty about what it is we do, and with any luck you'll conclude your time here wiser and more reassured about what awaits you in the wide worlds of sports and journalism. We'd like for you to get college credit, too, but we can work something out if that's not possible. And all of this would take place in our glamorous, air-conditioned Soho office.

So, potential Deadspin intern, if you're interested, please send an email to me (dickey@deadspin.com) and Dom (dom@deadspin.com). This email should include a couple paragraphs about you and why you'd be a good fit for us. Don't be stuffy. Please also include one or two links to published pieces of writing, and paste your résumé as text into the body of the email. And tell us what your schedule for the summer might look like. No attachments, please.

Don't take it personally if we don't get back to you—we can't reply to everyone. But if you're our gal or our guy, we'll be in touch shortly.
