Robotic Face Study - Need Participants!

We are researchers at Indiana University’s School of Informatics and Computing and the Program in Cognitive Science. We invite you to participate in a study on human-robot interaction with a minimalist robot for displaying human-like facial expressions.   You would be one of up to 150 participants recruited from Indiana University and the Bloomington community.

For this study, you will be asked to come to the R-House Living Lab on the campus of Indiana University or a designated space in the Informatics building for a total of 30 minutes.  Upon arrival, you will go through the informed consent procedure for the study and complete preliminary questionnaires about your attitudes towards robots.  Next, you will observe a robot and/or digital avatar displaying a number of facial expressions, which you will be asked to identify. We expect that the study will take approximately 30 minutes. You will be paid $5 per half hour for completing the experiment.

If you would like to participate, please contact Casey Bennett (cabennet@indiana.edu) with “Robot Face” in the subject line,  so that we can schedule a time for you to come in.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Best wishes,
Dr. Selma Sabanovic
