1. Career Fair Prep Workshop for Liberal Arts Students

The 2013 Fall Career and Internship Fair is coming on
Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Alumni Hall.
Are you prepared for the fair?
Do you know how to best present the diverse skills
developed as a Liberal Arts major to give you a competitive advantage in the
business world?
The Career Development Center can help you develop your
career fair plan and answer questions about career fair etiquette. Join us the
week before the Fair to discuss specific strategies for students in analytical,
scientific, artistic or internationally-focused majors.
We will help you prepare so you can feel confident
representing yourself at this great event.

2. Science and Research Networking Night
Monday, September 23; 7:00-8:30 p.m.
State Room East, Indiana Memorial Union
Please join IU Alumni and professionals from scientific
and research-oriented employers for an evening of networking and fun. Guest speakers
will participate in a panel discussion focusing on their career paths,
organizational opportunities, and sharing advice for students entering the
world-of-work. An introduction to networking will be followed by light
refreshments and the opportunity to mingle with the guest speakers.
Networking Nights is a collaborative event hosted by the
IU Career Development Center and the IU Alumni Association. Its purpose is to
provide students the opportunity to learn the art of networking through
interaction with professionals in their field of interest.

3. Save the Date! Fall Career & Internship Fair
Tuesday, September 24, 2:00-4:00 p.m., 4:00-7:00 p.m.
Alumni Hall & Frangipani Room, Indiana Memorial Union
This fair gives IU students from a variety of liberal
arts majors the opportunity to connect with organizations recruiting
entry-level positions and/or internships. All majors are welcome to attend.
The first two hours of the fair (from 2-4 p.m.) are open
to the students from the following Scholarship Programs at IUB:
- Wells Scholars Program
- Science, Technology, & Research Scholars (STARS)
- Hudson and Holland Scholars Program
- Liberal Arts & Management Program (LAMP)
- Hutton Honors College

6. Nonprofit Professional Roundtables

Have you always wanted to work at a nonprofit, but worry
about finding positions in this competitive sector? Networking in the field can
give you a step above the competition. At this event, you will have the
opportunity to speak one on one with several nonprofit professionals. Learn
about organizations and make connections in the field to help your job and
internship search. Unlike other events where employers lecture to large groups,
this event will allow you to speak individually with nonprofit representatives
from diverse organizations and gain valuable face time with potential future
contacts.

7. Undergraduate Drop-In Career Advising Hours
Starting Monday, August 26th, our drop-in advising hours
will be:
Mondays: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Thursdays: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Monday-Friday: 12:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Undergraduate drop-in career advising is available
without appointment in the Career Development Center, which is located at 625
N. Jordan on the northwest corner of Jordan and 10th. Drop-in sessions last
approximately 20 minutes. Career advisors answer general questions about majors
or careers; critique resumes and cover letters; explain what resources are
available on campus; and get students started on internship, job, and graduate
school searches. If additional time is required, the advisor will refer the
student to an hour-long advising appointment.

Career Development Center and Arts & Sciences Career Services is looking

Program. We are looking for someone available to work Tuesday and Thursday
afternoons between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Don't pass up the chance to
