Video Production Internship with the Center on Policy Initiatives

Organization: The Center on Policy Initiatives (CPI) is a nonprofit research and advocacy center dedicated to the interests of working people in the San Diego region. Through research, community organizing, and effective communications, we seek policy change to promote economic justice and raise workers from poverty to the middle class.

Program: CPI seeks to improve our media program by producing campaign videos that will engage our supporters in our work. Having well-designed multi-media campaign materials to communicate our message and attract new supporters is essential to our success both online and offline.

Responsibilities:

• Shooting, editing, and producing campaign videos.
• Set up meetings and film dates.
• Preparing and facilitating videos for online distribution.

Required Qualifications:

• Passion and interest in social and economic justice issues.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator Premier Pro) and/or Final Cut Pro
• Proficiency in preparing video for web delivery.
• Experience with video production, preferably non-fiction/documentary work
• Familiarity with social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube).
• Strong sense of ownership over projects and tasks – able to identify new opportunities and have the initiative to pursue them.
• Comfort with and ability to perform in fluid and variable work environments.
