PAST INERNSHIP: BLOOMINGTON AREA ARTS COUNCIL

Brief Description of Company or Organization: The BAAC is a local non-profit arts organization that "supports public participation in the arts by developing, strengthening, and promoting the cultural resources" of Bloomington and the surrounding community. The BAAC does this by "directly supporting artists and arts organizations in the five-county region and by managing the John Waldron Arts Center."

Description of Duties: As one of two recipients for the BAAC's inaugural Emerging Artists' Program, I was awarded a grant to develop a production to direct in the fall of 2007 as part of the John Waldron Arts Center's Performance Series. Throughout this process, I have been working and will continue to work with the performance/technical director, Marc Tschida, and support staff at the BAAC. Also, as part of the grant, I am being mentored by Randy White, founder/artistic director of the Cardinal Stage Company.
My responsibilities include research, writing/adaptation, design, producing, directing, promotion, community/educational outreach, budgeting, fundraising, scheduling, etc.
