We'd like to extend an invitation to you and your
students to the 2nd annual campus celebration of local, good food and biking:
Big Red Eats Green (and Bikes). Sponsored by the IU Office of Sustainability,
Big Red Eats Green (BREG) is a festival bringing Bloomington restaurants, local
growers, producers and student groups together to learn about, and celebrate,
local food. This year local bike shops and campus bike organizations will also
be present to offer cycling information such as bicycle repairs, routes, and
safety. Sign-up sheets will be available to students and staff for a foraging
tour as well as a group trip to the Farmer’s Market. Local farmers, student
groups, and community organizations will
offer volunteer positions and internships. Food will be sold, music will
be played, and prizes will be won!
We encourage you and your students to attend Big Red Eats
Green (and Bikes). The festival is scheduled, rain or shine, for Thursday Sept
6 (3rd week of classes) in and around the IU Art Museum.
BREG is also looking for volunteers to help with the event. Details can be found on the website:http://www.indiana.edu/~sustain/BREG/<http://www.indiana.edu/%7Esustain/BREG/>, or write an email to:breg@indiana.edu<mailto:breg@indiana.edu>.
