Description:
CountryMark, a farmer-owned cooperative, is seeking a summer intern to assist in graphic design and communications projects within the marketing department. The internship program will mid-to-late May through mid-August, 2013 and is located at the CountryMark corporate office in Indianapolis, Indiana.
CountryMark is Indiana’s only American-owned oil exploration, production, refining and marketing company. The company produces 3,500 bpd of Illinois Basin crude oil, refines 27,000 bpd of American crude oil, sells a million gallons of lubricants per year, and is recognized as a leader in the distribution of biodiesel and ethanol. Fourteen local cooperatives deliver CountryMark fuels and lubricants in and around the state of Indiana, and more than 100 fuel stations carry CountryMark products.
Responsibilities:
As the CountryMark Graphic Design and Communications Intern, you will collaborate with CountryMark sales and marketing staff to work on a variety of CountryMark fuels and Advantage Lubricant projects. These projects will include, but not limited to: updating product data sheets, product label design and updating, re-design of lubricant sales sheets, re-design of the lubricant sales field guide and promotional direct mail design.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have strong experience in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, in addition to excellent oral and written communication skills. Graphic design coursework is required. Applicants should be college juniors, seniors or graduate students in visual communications, graphic design, agricultural communications, journalism, marketing or other related field. A background in energy or agriculture is a plus but not required. Self-motivation and the ability to work on a task with minimal supervision is ideal. Must be a team player, hard-working and deadline driven. Applicants must be available to work the entire length of the internship program.
Compensation:
Compensation will be an hourly rate of $14.00. The intern will be responsible for organizing their own accommodations during the internship period. CountryMark will assist in complying with school requirements, written evaluations and other documentation for college credits. However, the intern must coordinate college credit for this internship between the university and CountryMark.
