Manna Project International
Looking
for a unique opportunity to live and work in Latin America? Manna Project International
is a non-profit organization that
specializes in holistic community development. We connect recent college
graduates and young professionals with international service opportunities in Guatemala, Ecuador and Nicaragua.
The day-to-day operations at each of our sites are run by teams of
international Program Directors who design and implement community development
initiatives in a range of fields, including health, environment, education, and
micro-finance.
Looking for a shorter term commitment abroad? Be a part of our Summer
Internship Program! Through MPI's 4 to 8 week Summer Internship
Program, interns assist the Program Directors in planning and leading programs
on the ground in Guatemala, Ecuador and Nicaragua. Interns use their skills and
interests to determine the programs with which they work, and many choose to
design and lead their own project.

Paul E. Klinge Scholarships
These scholarships are made
available by the gifts of many friends of Professor Paul Klinge, a former
Indiana University faculty member and administrator. Professor Klinge
served as Assistant to The President in the administrations of several
Presidents, including President Herman B Wells. Prof Klinge, previously a high
school biology teacher, had a keen interest in furthering the career
preparation of students planning to become science teachers and of those
entering other science careers. For many years he directed programs at
Indiana University dedicated to helping students as they explored science
career opportunities. There are three scholarship competitions
offered in Professor Klinge’s memory (see below). Application
Material and Procedure: Application materials for each of the competitions
can be obtained from the Undergraduate Recruitment and Professional Community
Office, Indiana University School of Education, Bloomington. Requests may
be made by calling 812-856-8578, or by e-mail at kpaulin@indiana.edu. Application must be
submitted to: Katie Paulin, Indiana University School of Education,
Undergraduate Recruitment and Professional Community, Suite 1000, 201 North
Rose Avenue, Bloomington, Indiana 47405-1006.
For Undergraduates
Planning To Be Science Teachers: Eligibility: Recipients must
have completed their Sophomore Year, and have committed to a career in

Fall Semester 2014, and must be maintaining at least a cumulative Indiana
University GPA of 3.5 in all classes taken at the time of application.
Awardees will be selected based upon academic and professional recommendation
criteria. Financial need will become a selection factor only in the event
of a tie with another finalist. The receipt of a Klinge Scholarship last
year will not disqualify the recipient from being eligible to receive a
second-year scholarship.
Normally, more than one scholarship will
be awarded. The size may vary, but normally will be between two and four
thousand dollars. Awards may be used for tuition, books, and room and
board, at the recipient’s discretion.
